S.B.'s Favorite Painter/Waiter/Rocker Releases Controversial New Film
| Brad Nack, known around these parts as a painter of reindeers
and other trippy things, the lead singer of The
Chart Toppers (are they still around?), and an occasional
waiter at Restaurant Roy, recently bared his soul in a YouTube video.We've
re-posted it for your pleasure below.Nack, who apparently left for Australia
on Thursday, December 14(which happens to be the
day this is being written), ponders what life might be like if the world
refers to him as "Mr. Reindeer," a possibility that may already
be tumbling into reality. We follow him through his painting and into
the galleries where his work gets displayed, both here and in New York.

These shows are more in a series of paintings of abstracted Reindeers that I got talked into painting 7 years ago. I was ready to quit after the 4th year, and then Elaine at Frame (the gallery) was ready to quit after having to frame all these small pieces each year. Somehow, we both were able to find a beauty in the repetition. After painting hundreds of these Reindeers and making each one unique they are now going coast to coast. The shows are in Santa Barbara on Dec.1st and in NY on Dec.2nd. I am also pleased to announce that a few Reindeer will be on display on the Upper Eastside at the Country Corner. : You are formally invited.
